People in an individualistic culture display a wide variety of emotions. In collectivistic cultures people don't express as much variety of emotion because they are concerned about the group they are involved in and don't want to upset the group. Collectivistic cultures worry about group cooperation and harmony and cohesion so they won't expression much emotion in fear that it could hurt the group.
